Keeping solar panels clean is crucial for maintaining their efficiency and using solar lights when fully charged prolongs the battery lifespan.

Here's a straightforward, step-by-step guide!
  1. Cleaning: To keep your lights shining brightly and solar panel charging effectively, grab a soft cloth or sponge dipped in mild soapy water and gently wipe the surface of the string and solar panel. It is recommended to clean your solar panel at least once a month. Remember to switch off your lights as you clean by disconnecting the lights or using the ON/OFF switch at the back of the solar panel.

  2. Regular Inspection: Conduct periodic inspections of the wires and sockets to check for damage caused by weather, UV light, or other factors. If any issues are spotted such as fraying, cuts, or damage, promptly replace or repair them to maintain safety and reliability.

  3. Waterproof Performance: While our outdoor lights are designed to be waterproof, the sockets and connections should not be left soaking in water for long periods to avoid electrical hazards and to increase the lifespan of your string lights.

  4. Avoid Excessive Pull: Handle with care and avoid pulling on the wires or connections. Treat them gently to prevent damage.

  5. Preserve Battery Life: Battery life can decrease when the energy output exceeds the charge input during the day. This can lead to a reduction in the battery's power-holding capacity and storage performance over time. When convenient and/or lights are no longer needed, it is advisable to switch off the lights. This helps to delay the depletion of the battery's storage capacity.

  6. Relamping (Changing Bulbs): Before changing bulbs, always disconnect the power at the source and never attempt to change bulbs while it is raining or when the lights are wet. To remove existing bulbs, hold the socket and unscrew the lamps counterclockwise. If the lamps are tight, it is normal as it helps prevent moisture from entering the socket.

  7. Relamp with Compatible Bulbs: When installing bulbs for solar festoon lights, make sure to use LED bulbs with a voltage of 5V and an E27 base.

  8. Proper Storage: If you will not be using your string lights for an extended period, clean and thoroughly dry them before storing them away. Coil the lights loosely to prevent tangling or damage to the wires. Store them in a dry place away from direct sunlight to prevent moisture and protect the components.
*By following these maintenance and care instructions, you can extend the lifespan and enjoyment of your Litehouse Bulb String Lights while ensuring their safe operation.

Additional tips to note:
1. Safety First:
  • Ensure safety by turning off your solar lights before cleaning. If your solar lights are mounted or placed in hard-to-reach areas, make sure you have a stable ladder and someone to spot you.
2. Use a Soft Cloth or Sponge:
  • Gently wipe the solar panel surface with a soft cloth to remove any dirt or grime. Avoid using abrasive sponges that could scratch the surface.

3. Regular Maintenance Checks:

  • Conduct regular inspections and cleanings every 6 to 12 months, or more frequently if you're in a particularly dusty area or have many bird droppings and tree sap. Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your solar lights.
